15/12 The Red Tecnomifood presented during the CNTA Technology Transfer Conference
Partners of the Red Tecnomifood have presented the project during the “Technology Transfer Conference of the Centro Nacional de Tecnología y Seguridad Alimentaria” (CNTA) celebrated in an online way on December 15th. The event was focused on the trend towards immunoalimentation, its challenges and its potential for the food industry, and featured a round table focused on the activity of the Red Tecnomifood and functional foods.
Francesc Puiggròs, Scientific Director of the Eurecat Biotechnology Area and coordinator of the project; Raquel Virto, Technical-Scientific head of the R&D&i area of the CNTA and Itziar Tueros, food and health coordinator at AZTI, presented the Red Tecnomifood during the round table “Functional Foods”, focused on talking about the activity of the project and with the development of functional foods as the central theme of the different interventions.
During the session, the partners discussed the definition of the concept of functional foods and its main challenges and explained how omics technologies allow accelerating the development of new functional foods and mitigating the risk associated with research.
The conference was opened by the Spanish Minister of Science and Innovation, Pedro Duque, and count with the participation of 100 attendees and various entities and professionals who debated the importance of healthy nutrition and especially immunonutrition.
