Ketogenic Diet Alters Gut Microbiome, Lowers Proinflammatory T Cell Levels
Comments
Abstract
Ketogenic diets are on the rise due to alleged health and weight loss effects. Metagenomic studies in humans and mice demonstrate how these diets significantly change the composition of the gut microbiota, which results in lower levels of pro-inflammatory immune T cells. This anti-inflammatory mechanism could partly explain the anti-obesity effect of these diets.
