Kale by-products could be turned into prebiotics
Comments
Abstract
Researchers from the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) and gut microbiome specialist Amili hope to turn discarded kale stems into prebiotic products. After some research, it was found that powdered kale stems are great catalysts for the growth of bacteria such as Bifidobacterium and Lactobacillus, both of which are very important for the good evolution of the intestinal flora. Amili plans to incorporate this prebiotic ingredient into its next generation of supplements focused on gut health.
