Abstract

Both of Lallemand Health Solutions’ probiotic strains (Bifidobacteria infantis Rosell-33 and Bifidobacteria bifidum Rosell-71) received the go-ahead from Health Canada to be marketed for formula-fed infants. These strains help this class of babies have a microflora similar to those who are breastfed. It is the first time that Health Canada has recognized that probiotics can achieve this activity.
