After studying the request of the company Fair Insects BV, the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) has authorized, in February 2022, the commercialization of the domestic cricket (Acheta domesticus) as human food and as an ingredient for the production of food for people. It may be marketed frozen, dried or ground.
