Abstract
A study in China has determined that kiwi polyphenols may show prebiotic potential. Specifically, an extract rich in polyphenols from the skin of the fruit can reduce intestinal permeability associated with high-fat diets. According to the researchers, the main polyphenol in kiwi peel extract was protocatechin.
