Less inflammation with a traditional Tanzanian diet than with a Western diet
Comments
Abstract
The difference in the diet followed by Tanzanians who live in cities (who follow a more western diet) versus those who live in the countryside (with a traditional diet) would explain that the former have a more activated immune system compared to their rural counterparts. A team of researchers believe that this increased activity of the immune system contributes to the rapid increase in noncommunicable diseases in urban areas of Africa.
