Abstract

An international study illustrates how the diversity of bacteria in the mouth changes with age, with chronic diseases or lifestyles determining factors in the variety of these species. The research, which has had the participation of 1,648 people, reveals the existence of three stages (adolescence, middle age and old age) in the composition of the oral microbiome.
