Lowering mortality risks? Mediterranean diet study hones in on biomarkers for seniors
Comments
Abstract
The Mediterranean diet has been linked to a lower risk of mortality in adults over 65 years of age. The InCHIANTI cohort study (Tuscany, Italy) conducted with 642 participants over 20 years showed that adherence to the Mediterranean diet, assessed through a panel of dietary biomarkers, is inversely associated with long-term mortality in older adults.
