Abstract

We studied the prebiotic properties of a purified extract from European black elderberries. Microbiome trajectories were highly individualized with a profound shift in diversity indices immediately upon initiation and after termination of the compound. The relative abundance of Akkermansia spp. continued to increase even beyond the supplementation.
