A home diagnostic kit detects breast cancer using an AI algorithm
Comments
Abstract
In November 2020, the engineer Judit Giró won the James Dyson 2020 international award for The Blue Box: a biomedical device to detect breast cancer at home in a non-invasive and low cost way. The machine performs a chemical analysis of the urine and sends the results to the cloud, where an AI-based algorithm provides the user with a diagnosis. The device is linked to an app that puts the user in contact with a doctor if the sample is positive.
