The Red Tecnomifood consortium, accredited as a Cervera Centre of Excellence, is led by Eurecat and includes AztiAinia, the Centro Nacional de Tecnología y Seguridad Alimentaria (CNTA) and the Asociación Nacional de Fabricantes de Conservas de Pescados y Mariscos – Centro Técnico Nacional de Conservación de Productos de la Pesca (ANFACO – CECOPESCA). The five centres in the project have an outstanding scientific and technological background which has made them national and European leaders in conducting a large number of food, nutrition and health-related projects. They also embody the state-of-the-art in using omics in food.

The design of the Red TecnomiFood means each partner is essential due to its scientific and technological specialisation and training process. Likewise, the group can generate world-class, applied and applicable scientific knowledge and is an international leader in business transfer of omics in nutrition and health.

The Red TecnomiFood delivers innovative functional solutions to optimise business investment and significantly reduce the time needed to implement the design and validation pipeline of a functional food or nutraceutical, regardless of the company’s starting point.

It adds to the Spanish technology centre system’s scientific and technological capacity to enhance the food business industry’s competitiveness in healthy eating.
